Exhibition “Our Šnipiškės” by V. Andrašiūnaitė, teacher of Vilnius Children and Youth Club “Šatrija”
The exhibition “Our Šnipiškės” presents the work of the students of the Vilnius Children and Youth Club “Šatrija” art studio. The club is located in the Šnipiškės district, so it is natural to look back to this historical part of Vilnius, where some of the students live and others come to develop their artistic skills.
Šnipiškės is a heterogeneous district, where old wooden architecture and modern glass and metal skyscrapers intertwine. This diversity and contrast is a great source of inspiration for young creatives.
The exhibition features the work of students of all ages, from primary school to junior high school. The techniques used are varied: graphite and coloured pencils, watercolour, gouache and acrylic markers.
The presented works reveal not only different forms of artistic expression, but also the personal relationship of the young artists with their surroundings. Through a distinctive look at Šnipiškės, the city’s living, ever-changing face is revealed, inviting the viewer to pause, take a look, and rediscover the beauty hidden in everyday life.
The exhibition will run until 30 April. The exhibition will be on view on the 3rd floor of the Naujosios Vilnia Culture Centre.
