Labour Council

In order to implement the right of workers’ representation provided for in the Labour Code of the Republic of Lithuania, the Naujosios Vilnios Cultural Centre has a Labour Council.

The Labour Council, elected by a general vote of the employees, is an independent collegiate representative body of the employees of the Vilnius Culture Centre, defending their professional, labour, economic and social rights and representing their interests. The Labour Council shall be guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, the Labour Code of the Republic of Lithuania, and the laws of the Republic of Lithuania regulating labour relations in its activities.

In carrying out its functions, the Labour Council shall take into account the rights and interests of all the employees of the Naujosios Vilnios Cultural Centre, without discrimination on the basis of position, education, age, sex or other criteria.

The Works Council is composed of the three members elected by a general secret ballot of the staff with the highest number of votes.

Employers and employees shall submit their requests for consideration of an issue at a meeting of the Council electronically to info@nvkc.lt or in writing to Gerovės str. 1, Vilnius.
