VI Republican Folk Dance Festival “ Prie Vilnelės “
October 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Naujoji Vilnia Cultural Center, 1 Gerovės St., Vilnius
The following folk dance groups will be performing:
“LINAS” (Panevėžys),
“GIRĖNAI” (Šakiai),
“EGLŪNAS” (Ukmergė),
“GAJA” (Ignalina District),
“LANKESA,” “VOLUNGĖ” (Kėdainiai),
“ŠOKTINIS,” “GRIJA,” “LENDRŪNAS” (Vilnius).
During the festival, the audience will enjoy live folk music, lively dances and exquisite folk costumes. But it’s not just an artistic programme. “Prie Vilnelės” is an important community event that gives people of different generations the opportunity to come together, share experiences and strengthen their cultural identity together.
The festival promotes the traditions of folk dance and encourages pride in national heritage. It also contributes to the revitalisation of the cultural life of the Naujoji Vilnia community, strengthens interconnections and creates an open and friendly space for meetings. The festival is a great opportunity for local residents and visitors to experience a sense of community, to be inspired and to be in good spirits.
