11 October The fifth Republican Folk Dance Festival “Prie Vilnelės” will take place at the Naujoji Vilnia Culture Centre, bringing together senior dance groups and folk music lovers from various Lithuanian cities.
The following bands will perform at the festival:
“Linas” (Panevėžys)
“Lankesa” and “Volunge” (Kėdainiai)
“Girėnai” (Šakiai)
“Vajaunas” (Prienai)
“Eglūnas” (Ukmergė)
“Šoktinis”, “Grija”, “Lendrūnas” (Vilnius)
“Antraip” folk music band (Vilnius)
During the festival, the audience will enjoy live folk music, lively dances and exquisite folk costumes. But it’s not just an artistic programme. “Prie Vilnelės” is an important community event that gives people of different generations the opportunity to come together, share experiences and strengthen their cultural identity together.
The festival promotes the traditions of folk dance and encourages pride in national heritage. It also contributes to the revitalisation of the cultural life of the Naujoji Vilnia community, strengthens interconnections and creates an open and friendly space for meetings.
