The Folk Music Kapelija is an energetic and creative ensemble of folk music enthusiasts from different generations. The members of the ensemble play both classical and folk instruments, which allows the group to explore and discover a wide variety of sounds and styles in different genres of music.
The band’s repertoire includes folk, folk-style and retro music. The instrumental group often performs at parties, town and city festivals, festivals and republican events, such as the Lithuanian Song Festival or the Juniper competition. The ensemble is also active in various artistic projects and musicals.
The band cooperates closely with the folk dance ensemble “Vaiva”, performing together at cultural events in Vilnius and other municipalities. As an ambassador of folk music, the ensemble represents Lithuania at international festivals.
We are proud to have received the Golden Bird nomination – it is not only an honour, but also an obligation to continuously improve, to look for new sound colours and creative paths in the world of national music.
